Course Objectives:

1. To gain an understanding of current scholarship on Paul’s letter to the Romans
2. To more deeply understand the theological and pastoral resources within Romans
3. To become more aware of how social and cultural realities in the first century shape the argument of Romans, with an eye toward how our own setting shapes proclamation
4. To practice and improve exegetical skills for the sake of interpretation & proclamation
